Description

The main objective of the module is to provide the participants with practical knowledge in business valuation and related financial areas. These topics will be covered:

  • How to read financial statements
  • How to process financial analysis
  • How to assess the company´s financial condition
  • How to perform business valuation

The companies’ values are estimated using several different valuation models such as the dividend valuation model, the free cash flow valuation model, and the comparable companies model. In the process of performing valuations of companies special evaluation problems arise and are discussed.
After successful completion of the modul the participants will be able to:

  • value companies using several alternative fundamental valuation models
  • make consistent forecasts of financial statements
  • critically scrutinise and evaluate others’ forecasts of financial statements and others’ valuation of firms
  • write equity research reports
