Irene is the Director of the Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics (The Blue MBA) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Europe’s leading institution of its kind. From the beginning, she has been responsible for the design, development and co-ordination of The Blue MBA. On behalf of CBS, she has a fundamental role in building global relationships and networks within the maritime industry. She also promotes research identifying challenges and future issues for the maritime industry as a whole. She is a member of many international boards and committees. Based on her extensive international network and experience, she has been entrusted with major roles in varied maritime-related activities, and speaks at leading maritime events.
Dr. Maria-Alina Carataș is the Programme Coordinator and Organiser of the Shipping & Port Leadership Summer School at Bucharest Business School, Bucharest University of Economic Studies. She leads the programme’s development and delivery in collaboration with international academics, maritime-industry experts, and institutional partners, creating an executive learning environment focused on strategy, connectivity, innovation, and leadership in shipping and ports.
She is also a Lecturer at the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages (FABIZ) and Bucharest Business School, with more than 14 years of experience in higher education. Her teaching in English and French includes Intercultural Management and Negotiation Techniques in Business Administration, while her academic work integrates curriculum development, internationalisation, and executive education.
Dr. Carataș’s research and programme-development interests address maritime strategy, port governance, logistics connectivity, and the evolving role of the Port of Constanța within the Black Sea region and the Middle Corridor. Her work examines multimodal integration, regional competitiveness, investment strategies, and public-private collaboration in the context of changing international trade routes.
Her background in entrepreneurship and corporate sales complements her academic experience with a practical understanding of business development, stakeholder engagement, and organisational leadership. She has participated in international teaching mobilities in France, Spain, Norway, Poland, and Turkey, and has contributed to European initiatives concerning sustainability, regional development, and inclusive education.
Irene Rosberg is the Founding Programme Director of the Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics — The Blue MBA — at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), and President of the Blue MBA Alumni Association. She has led the programme since its 2001 launch, growing it into the world’s leading Shipping and Logistics MBA, with over 450 alumni from 50+ countries across the maritime, shipping, and logistics sectors.
Rosberg is widely respected for building a diverse, globally connected alumni network and for spearheading the Blue Board Leadership Programme, which strengthens governance skills among maritime executives. A sought-after speaker on diversity and leadership in shipping, she is often described as a trailblazer — “the queen” of an industry long dominated by men.
One of the most respected analysts and thought leaders in container shipping. He has more than two decades of experience in the maritime industry, with deep expertise in carrier strategy, market intelligence, schedule reliability, freight markets, and the strategic dynamics shaping global container trade.
Over the course of his career, he has advised shipping lines, ports, terminals, and logistics stakeholders on how to navigate market disruptions, industry transformation, and evolving competitive pressures.
He is widely recognized for translating complex shipping developments into clear, strategic insights for industry and academic audiences alike.
A maritime professional with extensive experience in shipping and port operations. His background brings a practical and operational perspective to the Shipping & Port Leadership Summer School, with particular relevance to the strategic, technical, and leadership dimensions of the maritime sector.
Through his contribution to the programme, he adds valuable insight into the realities of maritime practice and the evolving demands placed on port and shipping leadership.
He has more than 25 years of international leadership experience in offshore port management, port infrastructure development, intermodal logistics, decommissioning, and industrial recycling.
His work focuses on strategy, innovation, business development, and the green transition, with particular expertise in offshore wind energy, sustainability, digitalization, and international logistics.
He brings to the Shipping & Port Leadership Summer School a strong strategic perspective on how ports can adapt to changing industrial, environmental, and market conditions.
Casandra Tecșa-Cozma is a Danube Ports Executive, responsible for the strategic leadership and development of Danube port operations. She specializes in multimodal logistics, transport infrastructure and investments, leading initiatives focused on multimodal integration and the adaptation of critical infrastructure to EU and NATO dual-use standards, with an emphasis on balancing commercial logistics with resilience objectives.
With a background in law, finance and business administration, she also serves as Strategic Advisor to the President at GRAMPET Group, where she contributes to the development of the Group’s multimodal strategy.
Koce Gjorgjiev is the Owner of Eagle Transportation Group. He brings substantial practical experience in transport and logistics, with a strong focus on freight movement, operational coordination, and the commercial dimensions of regional connectivity. His contribution to the programme will provide a valuable practitioner perspective on the strategic role of logistics integration, corridor development, and port performance in a changing maritime environment.

Registration Process
How To’s and Recommendations
If you are coming from abroad, take a flight to Bucharest OTOPENI Airport.
From Bucharest OTOPENI Airport to Constanta you can use one of the following options:
- Train Travel via Bucharest North Station
- From the Arrivals terminal, you can access the train to Gara de Nord (North Station Bucharest).
- From there, transfer to a train to Constanța.
