Ivane Abashidze serves as Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, with over 15 years of experience in maritime law, administration, and transport policy.

In this role, he oversees the regulation and development of Georgia’s maritime sector, including port operations, shipping policy, and maritime infrastructure.

He has represented Georgia at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), where he served as Vice-Chair of the IMO Legal Committee (2021–2024), and is the Co-founder of the Georgia International Maritime Forum (GIMF).

Ivane plays a key role in advancing Georgia’s strategic position as a regional transport and logistics hub, particularly along the Middle Corridor and the Trans-Caspian route.
