This course provides a broad overview of the energy trading and the various strategies that can be used by market participants.

Learning objectives:

  • Gain knowledge of how gas and power markets function, including the different types of markets such as spot, forward, exchange-based, and over-the-counter (OTC) markets.

  • Learn about energy derivatives, including futures, options, and swaps, and understand the principles behind derivatives pricing in the context of energy markets.

  • Analyze and execute energy trading strategies in real-time scenarios, utilizing technical tools and techniques to make informed trading decisions.

  • Understand how to evaluate market volatility and apply appropriate hedging strategies to mitigate risks associated with price fluctuations in energy trading.

  • Apply technical analysis and other trading tools to real-time energy trading examples to make data-driven trading decisions in complex market environments.
