This course covers money laundering and terrorist financing prevention, risk assessment, legal practices, and reporting measures for combating these crimes.
Description
The general objective of the course is to acquire general knowledge on the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorist financing, to identify and assess the associated risks, including the measures needed to be applied to limit the phenomenon of money laundering and terrorist financing.
At the end of this module, you will:
- Understand the phenomenon of money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Have knowledge of national law and international good practice in preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Identify the categories of risk factors associated with money laundering and terrorist financing, assess them and take the necessary measures to reduce the likelihood and impact of triggering risk factors.
- Understand the clientele and identify the particularities of the way of managing the relationship with the clients, as a measure to prevent the onset of the associated risk factors.
- Understand the responsibilities of the reporting entities, of the professionals within the reporting entities, as well as of those responsible for preventing and combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
- Identify and understand the warning signals, the indicators of suspicion and the application of the necessary measures to be taken in case of appearance of these signals and indicators.
- Know the ways of reporting to the competent authorities in the control and prevention of money laundering, in accordance with the legal provisions in the field.
