This course is built on two pillars: regulatory frameworks in the energy sector and the impact of corporate governance on energy companies.
Description
This course is constructed on two different pillars.
First it provides an in-depth understanding of the regulatory framework of the energy sector, how to operate and interact in the regulation of energy sources and facilities, and how to apply existing and proposed legal doctrines and techniques.
The second part explores the relationship between corporate governance and the economic, social, and political impact of energy companies.
Topics include the role and responsibilities of shareholders, the boards of directors, and the executive management along with executive compensation policies, boardroom structure and practices, corporate disclosure and transparency, the value of the shareholder vote and the failure of the market for corporate control.
