The aim of Managerial Accounting topic is to apply relevant knowledge, skills and exercise professional judgement in selecting and applying relevant management accounting techniques in different business contexts to contribute to the planning, control and evaluation of the performance of a business and its strategic and operational development.
By the end of this module, students will:
- Be able to explain and discuss a range of issues regarding costs, costs allocation and costing methods
- Understand and review both the theoretical issues and influences on practical decisions associated with multi-product break-even analysis and budgeting
- Be able to apply appropriate strategic performance measurement techniques in evaluating and improving business performance
- Discuss how changing organisation’s structure, culture and strategy will influence the adoption of new performance measurement methods and techniques
- Be able to apply analytical and research skills into a management accounting related to business cases.
