About me ...
Livia Florea is the Founder and President of buchARTest Association, an organization working at the crossroads of street art and urban regeneration. With more than 13 years in the NGO sector, she has led buchARTest since 2019, turning city walls into spaces for dialogue between places and their communities.
She is the founder of Artown Festival in her hometown, Ploiești, now one of the biggest urban art events in Romania. Its second edition brought together 19 murals by 37 artists from 14 countries, covering some 3,000 square meters of walls, alongside theatre, poetry, concerts, dance and workshops, all free and open to the public. She also initiated Mural Art Awards Romania, to recognize and support the creators of lasting change in communities.
Her background joins technical and cultural perspectives. She studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Politehnica University of Bucharest. She then completed a Master in Management (Maastricht University and Bucharest International School of Management) and a Master in Media & Cultural Studies at the Centre of Excellence in the Study of Image.
