About me ...
Miruna Mazurencu Marinescu Pele is a Full Professor of Statistics and Econometrics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), in the Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics. She holds a PhD and an MBA from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris. She is a former visiting professor at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.
Her academic profile is international. She is a Fulbright grantee and a post-doctoral fellow of the Romanian Academy, and she completed a post-doctoral course in Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge. She has directed numerous national and international projects, and she works as a local expert for the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, FAO and PHARE.
Her research focuses on the multidimensional analysis of economic phenomena, and on econometric modelling of the performance and valuation of ICT-based businesses. She also applies quantitative methods to regional science, smart cities and AI applications in the social sciences. Her work appears in international and national journals, and she is part of ASE’s responsible AI research community.
